Hi, I will be talking to you about a new project that we just started in our G.T. class, it is called typography portraits. First off typography is a way of showing an image that is made out of text. Typography portraits are portraits that are made fully out of text. The portrait and text normally relate. For example, it could be that persons achievements, what they are like, or even an event that relate to. Typography portraits can be used to make a lasting impact on people by doing many things to make them great. For example, you could put some text in them that tells a story or that can touch people, instead of making some ridiculous comments as the text that will cover the portrait. And that is a little bit about what typography portraits are.
Well I haven't quite gotten through this whole project yet but so far my biggest challenge would probably be having to make the mid-tones 50% grey and the shadows to black. This step wasn't incredible hard, but you had to have about half of it be highlights, and when I took the picture it was pretty dark because we were inside a room. Since the picture was really dark I had to go to the image then click image at the top and go to adjustments and then go to brightness and contrast then that would make the picture brighter. After that I had to select the mid-tones and then fill the mid-tones with 50% grey and then the picture was too bright to select the shadows (were not enough shadows in the picture) I had to make the picture darker, then finally select the shadows and fill them with black. It took me quite a while to make it perfect because at first there was too much mid-tones then too much highlights, but i am proud of myself for trying again and again to make it perfect.
Well one of my examples at the bottom left hand corner was the first one that I did and the was the innovator one. The innovator that I chose was Benjamin Franklin because he was one of the founders of the united states and I think that he played a big role in the united states. The second one that I did at the bottom right was our teacher typography portrait and I took the picture of my math teacher which is Ms. Nakamura, I chose her because I knows that she loves what she does which is being a teacher and I really admire that in a person. I really like my teacher portrait because I like the text that I made for it and the meaning behind the picture, I also like how it wasn't so easy in the making it was actually pretty hard and I encountered some problems along the way, but I still managed to finish it. And that was a little bit of information on my typography portrait and what it is.
